Capt. Rick Scarborough

Capt. Rick Scarborough is a Hatteras native guide with family roots in a long line of fishermen going back to the late 1600's! After high school he worked long hours commercial fishing from New England to Nova Scotia to save for college. Once he graduated he returned to his beloved Hatteras Island and began fishing for a living full time. In 1995 he married his long time sole mate, Donna and together they saw a need for people to be able to fish inshore in this area with light tackle so they founded Speck-Tackler Charters.

No question, he obviously has extensive knowledge of the water around Hatteras and how to catch the many species of fish that swim in them. Besides his expertise what customers appreciate most about Capt. Rick is that he is friendly, polite and maintains an outstanding sense of humor. He specializes in teaching the inexperienced anglers and helps children become comfortable and enjoy fishing on his charters.
